Why the $25 bars die in 7 months

Three things kill cheap tailgate bars. Here’s what we did about each — and what happens if it still isn’t enough.

Close-up of the LED rows
Problem 1

Amber LEDs go first

On most cheap bars the turn-signal LEDs are the first to fade. Ours run on a sealed multi-row strip. If yours fades, you get a new one.

Water beading on the sealed strip
Problem 2

Water gets in

Thin housings crack and let moisture reach the board. Ours is fully sealed silicone, mounted under the tailgate lip, out of the weather. If water ever wins, we replace it.

Adhesive backing of the strip
Problem 3

The tape lets go

Cheap tape fails in the first winter. Ours uses automotive-grade adhesive tape. If it lifts, we replace it.

About five minutes. No drilling.

Press it on, plug it in, done. If you get stuck, text us a photo — a person walks you through it the same day.

Pressing the strip under the F-150 tailgate
1

Press it on

Wipe the underside of the tailgate, peel the backing, press the strip along the edge.

2

Plug it in

Route the cable to your trailer socket and plug in. No cutting, no splicing.

3

Tap the brakes

Brake, signal, reverse. If anything doesn’t light up, message us before you touch a wire.

If it dies, here’s exactly what happens

No forms. No “ship it back first.” No waiting three weeks for a decision.

Old bar next to a new bar in its box
  1. Email us a photo. One photo of the bar and your order number. That’s it.
  2. We confirm within 48 hours. A person reads it and replies.
  3. A new bar ships from our US warehouse. Keep the old one. Bin it, keep it as a spare, we don’t need it back.

One replacement per bar, any time in the first 12 months. Covers dead LEDs, water, adhesive, connectors — anything that isn’t you running it over.

Straight answers

Which F-150s does it fit?

Ford F-150 2000–2018. The 60" strip runs edge to edge under the tailgate lip. If you’re not sure, email us your year and trim before ordering — and if we get it wrong, you keep the bar and get your money back.

Do I have to cut any wires?

No. The harness plugs into the flat 4-pin trailer socket behind your bumper.

Is the turn signal sequential?

No. It’s a solid amber blink across the full width — same timing as your factory signal, just a lot bigger. We don’t sell it as sequential because it isn’t.

Will my truck think a trailer is attached?

On most F-150s in these years, no — the bar just reads the brake, tail and turn signals from the 4-pin socket. 2015–2018 trucks with the factory tow package or blind-spot (BLIS) can show a “trailer connected” message through the plug. Have one of those? Email us your VIN before ordering and we’ll tell you straight.

How does the 12-month replacement actually work?

Email a photo and your order number. We confirm within 48 hours and ship a new bar from our US warehouse. You keep the old one. One replacement per bar, first 12 months.

What if I sell the truck?

The coverage stays with the bar. The new owner emails us with your order number and we treat them exactly the same.

Buy it once. If it dies, that’s on us.
